I didn't read the book of Nicholas Sparks, so I don't know if it is faithfull to it. But I liked the delicacy of the feelings in the movie. Gena Rowlands, James Garner, Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling are all great to play the great love of the story, in the young side and the older side. The passion and the fight to stay together. It's a movie for those who like great love stories and wonderful actors. a bit disappointing, the ending is a little quick. Fans of toga/sandal will prefer the ten commandments or ben hurThis vision of the times-the keys to the history of contemporary America seen through the eyes but a nice idiot is a pure masterpiece that leaves traces : "Run Forrest, run! " Or yet "life is like a box of chocolates... " Even if you've never seen the movie, you've probably already heard these dialogues have become legendary! Well, it is clear that it is better to know a little about the history of the United States to grasp all the allusions and references (and there are a lot) otherwise a large part of the film will escape you. Personally, I would pass this film to classes in the secondary History course to enrich the debate with regard to the material... but in general, the school curriculum can hardly the French Revolution. In short, a film that is funny and educational (yep this is pretty rare) must see, cinephile or not!!!!! The original DVD are simply grouped together in a box very simple and very light, with no other pretensions.
